Obituary

Carolyn Elaine Noble Crawford, 74, beloved wife of Henry Stevenson "Steve" Crawford, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Born on February 14, 1952, in Pickens County, SC, to the late Tommy Benjamin Noble and the late Margaret Louise Simmons Noble. Carolyn was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and a pillar of strength and kindness. Her life was a testament to selflessness, dedication, and unwavering faith.

Carolyn was lovingly called "Doddle" by those close to her, a name that captured the warmth and affection she shared so freely. Family was at the heart of her world. She adored her children and delighted in spoiling her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Nana." The family dinners she hosted were moments of joy and togetherness, filled with laughter, love, and the bonds connecting generations.

Carolyn retired from Michelin's quality control department, embodying the qualities of a hard worker who took pride in everything she did. It was at Michelin that she met her husband, a meeting that blossomed into a lifelong love story. Fondly recalling their first church outing together, Carolyn and Steve both arrived dressed in the color peach, a sign they embraced wholeheartedly, knowing it was meant to be.

A woman of deep faith, Carolyn read her Bible constantly, drawing strength and encouragement from its pages. Each morning, she reached out to her daughter, Sherry, to pray together, a ritual that revealed the depth of her love and spiritual commitment. Carolyn’s nurturing spirit extended far beyond her family; she was an encourager and a strong lady, always there for everyone around her without hesitation.

Beyond her devotion to family and faith, Carolyn found happiness by the shore and in the mountains, enjoying the peace and beauty. It was a place where she could reflect and unwind, a quiet retreat for a life lived with such open-hearted generosity.

Her proudest accomplishments were those born of kindness and selflessness, always ready to lend a hand, offer a word of encouragement, or simply be present. Carolyn’s spirit and love remain etched in the hearts of all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by daughter, Susan Elaine Propes; granddaughter, Jessica Harrison; sister, Linda Louise Owens, and brother, Thomas Ager Noble.

Along with her husband of 38 years, she is survived by daughters, Charlene Yvette Landreth and Sherry Louise Crawford; son-in-law, Michael Propes; grandchildren, Amy, Brooke, and Blake Propes; sister, Patsy Corine Stewart; and brother, Arthur Jefferson Noble.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
