Carolyn C. Jones

Carolyn Cane Jones, of Easley, passed away December 8th after a brief battle with cancer. She was 72. Born in Syracuse, NY, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Louis Waldorf and Dorothy Wyatt Cane. She grew up in Towson, MD where she attended Towson High School and skated with the Baltimore Skate Club. Mrs. Jones skated in a variety of regional and national competitions, and was named the 1953 Eastern Gold Dance champion. Following high school, Mrs. Jones graduated with a B.A. in English from Hood College.
Mrs. Jones came to our community by way of Charlotte, NC where she raised her two children. She moved to Easley in 1988, where she began her second career in automotive sales. Known within the business as "CJ", she earned respect and affection from most of the "good ol' boy" dealers in the region. She last worked at Hendrick Honda in Easley.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Edd Queen of Easley; her two children, Laura Solitario and her husband, Paul, of Charlotte, NC; CAPT Richard Wortman, USN, and his wife, Martine, of Ashburn, VA; and four grandchildren, Mitchell and Justin Wortman and Christine and Elizabeth Solitario.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, December 14, 2009, in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
