Carra Elizabeth Head McWhorter, 94, of Cherish Drive, died Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at her home.

Born in Salem on August 1, 1913, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Elizabeth Rice Head. She grew up in Central, and was a charter member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church, Easley where she was a longtime member of the Naomi Sunday School Class.

Surviving are her son, Larry V. McWhorter and wife Sue of Huntsville, AL; her caregivers: nephew Charles Head of Central and friend William Cochran of Easley, Margaret Brooks, Brenda Donahoo, Nancy Greer, Sara Hendricks, Gwen Kilcrease, Peggy Wallace, Carroll Urey; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, A.V. "Jack" McWhorter; fourteen siblings; and caregiver-nephew, Earl McWhorter.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Friday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown with Reverend Dr. Jim Spencer and Reverend Rodney Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 2:30 until 4:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brushy Creek Baptist Church Building Fund; 100 Clay Street; Easley, SC 29642 or to Pickens County Meals on Wheels; 309 East Cedar Rock Street; Pickens, SC 29671.
