Carroll Eugene Ferguson, 81, of Easley, husband of Kathy Lusk Ferguson, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on Sunday, October 22, 2023. His family finds comfort and solace in the knowledge that he has now gone on to his forever home with his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born in Greenville, South Carolina, the youngest son of the late Charles and Mary Fisher Ferguson, Carroll was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devoted family man who cherished his loved ones above all. Throughout his life, he always prioritized the well-being of others, and selflessly offered a helping hand to anyone in need. During his career, Carroll owned and operated Carroll's Automotive for 34 years. He built his business on the foundation of establishing strong relationships with his customers. His genuine interest in people created lasting connections that went beyond mere transactions. Early in his life, he distinguished himself while serving in the 19th Aviation Battalion in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict. For two years, he displayed exceptional determination, rising to the rank of E5 Specialist within just 14 months.
Outside of work and military commitments, Carroll had several hobbies and interests that brought him joy, including anything that involved working outdoors. He had a passion for cars and followed everything ranging from antique car auctions to NASCAR.
Carroll was a member of Powdersville First Baptist Church. In addition to his wife of 38 years, he is survived by his four children, Chrisantha "Chris" Maddox, Marty Ferguson (Stacey), Eric Ferguson (Alex), and Elyse Orr (Paul); and two grandchildren, Chase (Elyssa), and Papa’s Little Man, Gavin. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Tom Ferguson, Horace Ferguson, and Harold Ferguson.
