Carzell Floyd Cothran, 86, husband of Bobbie Merck Cothran, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Cothran was born in Central and was a son of the late, William Blanton and Lola Littleton Cothran. He was retired from the agronomy and soil department of Clemson University, was a U. S. Army veteran, having served with the corps of engineers, at Fort Benning, GA and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Bernie Cothran and his wife, Tammie of Liberty; his daughter, Carla Woolford of Greer; grandchildren, Chad Woolford and his wife, Saritas, Cara, Jonathan and Ashley Woolford, and Emily Cone and her husband, Bart; great grandchildren, Malaya Woolford and Kipton Cone.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Roman Cothran and a sister, Barbara Cartee.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 2, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Memory Gardens, Clemson.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
