Mr. Carzell "Cotton" Eugene Keaton, Sr., 77, husband of Sherri Scott Keaton, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023.

Born in Anderson County, a son of the late Oscar Paul Keaton and the late Willie Lois Thomas Keaton, Mr. Keaton retired from Carolina Painting with over thirty years of service and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church.

Cotton loved the outdoors, fishing, and rebuilding Dune Buggies, but his greatest love was for his family. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of forty-three years, are three sons, Thomas Keaton (Tonya) of Anderson, Buddy Keaton of Easley, and Bradley Keaton of Anderson; four daughters, Lisa Powers (Mark) of Anderson, Angel Hickey (Jason) of Liberty, Pam Fowler (Bob) of Clemson, and Elaine Ramey of Montana; two sisters, Kathy Nelms and Harriett Keaton, both of Pelzer; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Keaton was predeceased by two sons, Gene Keaton, Jr., and Tony Davis; a daughter, Lynzell Keaton; and six brothers, Ralph, Ray, Gary, Guy, Maxie, and Terry Keaton; and one sister, Pauline Chastain.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, January 30, 2023 at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 31, 2023 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
