Catherine Belle Atkinson, 63, daughter of the late Aldrich A. and Catherine Dubose Atkinson died Saturday at Greenville Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Catherine was born in Anderson, SC and raised in the Clemson area. She was a 1971 graduate of D.W. Daniel High School and earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Clemson University and was a Registered Nurse for over 39 years at AnMed Health. She enjoyed reading, collected dolls and antique toys and loved being with family.
Surviving are her sister, Rebecca "Becky" Atkinson of Clemson; brothers, Larry Atkinson of Clemson, Aldrich A. Atkinson, Jr. (Sandra Lee) of Panama City, FL, Joseph Johnson Atkinson (Sandra) and Robert Atkinson both of Seneca, SC; 5 nieces and nephews; a number of great nieces and nephews; and large extended family.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC.
There will be a private family committal service to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 E. Calhoun Street, Anderson, SC 29621.
