CATHERINE S. H. LEHR - Clemson

Catherine S. H. Lehr, 92, died July 5 in Easley. A native of Indianapolis, she retired in 1975 as a bookkeeper for the Indiana State Police. One of the founders of her high school 50 year Alumni Club, Kate was also a member of the Eastern Star, and she worked for several years with the volunteer corps for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. She moved to South Carolina in 1994. Earlier in her life Kate had been a member of the Indianapolis Women's Amateur Basketball League and an avid tennis player and bowler. She liked music, but perhaps most of all she loved to laugh.

She is survived by her younger sister Dorothy Quebe of Indianapolis and her daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Hap Wheeler of Clemson, SC, as well as by four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

The burial office will be read at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Clemson, Friday at 7pm. The family will receive friends in the parish hall following the service. She will be buried at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis on Monday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Blue Ridge Living Center, 1850 Crestview Rd., Easley, SC 29642.

Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central-Clemson Commons, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
