CATHERINE PORTER HUGHES ROBERTS - Central, SC
Catherine Porter Hughes Roberts, 62, wife of Carl Roberts at 409 Wood Street, died Wednesday, February 22, 2006, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Pickens County and a daughter of Lizzie Mae Durham Porter of Central and the late William Earle Porter.
She owned and operated Hughes Computer Service for many years and worked for Town of Central for over 30 years. She graduate from D. W. Daniel High School and was a member of Cannon Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Glenn "Big E" Hughes of Central; two brothers, Troy Porter and his wife, Sara, of Central and Leland Porter and his wife, Virginia, of Easley; and two sisters Allene Surrett and Reubenia Smith and her husband, Charles, all of Easley.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends between 12-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.
The family will be at their respective homes.
