Claude Cecil Houston, 83, of 103 Aiken Farm Road, died Sunday, September 30, 2007, at his residence.

Born in Easley, Mr. Houston was a son of the late Marshall Lee and Anne Hinton Houston. He graduated from Easley High School in 1941 and received a degree in Estimating and Design from the Veteran's School. Mr. Houston was owner of his construction company. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a member of Carmel Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Annas Galloway Houston of the home; three sons, Jonathan Houston and Curtis Houston and his wife, Jo, all of Salem and Bryant Lee Houston and his wife, Nora, of Liberty; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cecilia and Jim Spearman of Easley and Dawn and Michael Eck, of Franklin, Tennessee; four brothers, Wendell Houston of Charleston, Charles Houston of Greenville, Ben Houston of Easley and Joseph Houston of Columbia; one sister, Alice Britt of Lincolnton, NC; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with the Reverend Dr. John LeHeup officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Escort of Honor will be the Men's Bible Class of Carmel Presbyterian Church.; and Will McKee, Inis Crisp, and Jim Monteith all of Cashiers, N.C.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
