Cecile Ariail Long, (95) was born in Easley, SC on May 24, 1917 and died peacefully January 14, 2013. Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her husband, William McMurray Long, Sr.; her son, Dr. William McMurray Long, Jr.; her parents, Thomas Henry and May Farr Ariail; and her brothers Doyce Ariail and Jack Ariail.
Cecile Long is survived by her son, Dr. James W. Long, Ft. Smith, AR (Meredith); her daughters, C. Ariail L. Seshul, Fayetteville, NC (Dr. Michael) and Phronsie L. McNeely, Easley, SC (James W.); and her daughter-in-law Marianne S. Castren-Long of Prosperity, SC. "Gramby" (Cecile Long) will be missed by 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Cecile Long was the heartbeat of her family. She was adored by nieces, relatives and friends of all ages, especially Peggy Brown and Patsy Taylor. She was poignantly attuned to the needs of those fortunate enough to know her. Cecile Long was an interesting and informed conversationalist with a quick wit and ready laugh. She generously returned the love of her family who always held her in highest regard. May God replace the spiritual qualities of the one we already miss.
Visitation will be Friday 6 - 8 pm at Robinson Funeral Home Downtown Easley. A graveside service will be at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, Jan. 19 at
2:00 pm. Cecile Long will be laid to rest between her husband and her son.
