Champ H. Burgin, 71, of Easley, and formerly of Greer, died suddenly, February 5, 2008, at his home.

Born in Greer, the son of the late Joe L. and Thelma Martin Burgin, Mr. Burgin was a graduate of Greer High School and attended the University of South Carolina. He retired from Fluor Daniel and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where he formerly served as an usher. Prior to his employment with Fluor Daniel, Mr. Burgin worked, for many years, with his father who operated Burgin's Drive-In and Burgin's Music Company.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie of the home; two sons, Joe Burgin of Easley and Jeff Burgin of Greenville; a sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie Lou and J.W. Hannan of Greer; a granddaughter, Amber Burgin of Nashville, TN; two step-daughters, Cindy McJunkin and Melodie Holder, both of Easley; and five step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burgin was predeceased by a sister, Betty Joe Robison.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Randy Smith and Mr. M.G. Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Family members are at their respective homes.
