Charles L. Allen, 82, of 355 Berkman's Lane, passed away Wednesday January 5, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital.

Mr. Allen was born in Greenville, a son of the late Carl C. and Clara Lindley Allen. He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W. II and retired from Duke Power Company after forty-five years of service. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenville.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Tanner Allen, of the home; brothers, Marvin Allen and wife Frances, of Pelzer and Harold Allen and wife Betty, of Lancaster; sisters, Mildred Watts, Doris Thomas and Helen McCall and husband Johnny, all of Ware Place; sister-in-law, Grace Allen of Charlotte, NC; brother-in-laws, Robert D. "Bob" Tanner and wife Earlene, of Powdersville and David B. Tanner and wife Patricia, of Greenville; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road. Entombment will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens, Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum, Easley, SC.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

The family is at their respective homes.

The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the excellent care Charles received by the staff of The Haven at Chanticleer Assisted Living.
