Charles E. Ausburn

Charles Everette Ausburn, 63, of Powdersville, SC died Friday January 29, 2010 at 4:55 pm in Beaufort, SC after recently being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
He was born and raised in Powdersville, SC outside of Greenville, SC and attended Clemson University. His father was Homer H. Ausburn and his mother was Morene Pritchett Ausburn and he was one of eight children, Brothers: Randall, Ralph (deceased) and Edward (deceased). Sisters: Patsy Ann (deceased), Maxie, Sybil and his youngest sibling Elaine.
Charles was an influential philanthropist and real estate developer. While his real estate development covered many states, including South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia and Tennessee, he is best known in Beaufort for The Islands of Beaufort and Bermuda Bluff Island. These tasteful developments have added an elegance to the Beaufort area that will be long-lasting.
He is survived by his wife, Janie, to whom his devotion has been enduring during their joyous years together. A true and loyal friend to all has ascended to heaven and we will surely all meet again (Philippians 4:13).

Family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC on Tuesday February 2, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. The burial will be private.
Friends will gather for a "Celebration of Charles' Life" at The Islands of Beaufort and a seperate gathering in the Nashville, Tennesse area at a later date.
