Charles Collins Benton, III, of 113 Knight Circle and husband of Marian Long Benton died Tuesday, November 18, 2014.
Born in Wilson, NC, he was the son of May Corbett Bordon Benton of Raleigh, NC and the late Charles Collins Benton, Jr. Charles was a 1970 graduate of North Carolina State University and prior to his retirement had a 38 year career in Textile Manufacturing. He was a volunteer with Pickens County Habitat for Humanity and the SHINE Soup Kitchen of Easley. He was a member of University Lutheran Church in Clemson.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are his son, Edward Collins Benton of Pendleton, SC; daughter, Margaret Ann Benton of Denver, Colorado; and sister Anne Barker of Wake Forest, NC.
Memorial services will be 3 PM, Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at University Lutheran Church in Clemson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Monday, November 24, 2014 at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pickens County Habitat for Humanity, P O Box 412, Clemson, SC 29631 or University Lutheran Church, 111 Slaon St., Clemson, SC 29631.
