Charles Jefferson Brown

Charles Jefferson Brown,76, of Powdersville, and husband of Mary A. Brown, passed away Saturday April 20, 2013 at Hospice of the Upstate.
Mr. Brown was born in Franklin County, Georgia, the son of the late Lloyd Martin and Florence Elrod Brown. He owned and operated C.J. Brown Construction Company for over 40 years and retired from Four Square Builders. He was a member of the Home Builders Association, Siloam Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman, gardener and animal lover. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1959 to 1962.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Karen B. Tripp (Todd) and Charley Brown Altom (Joey), both of Piedmont, SC; a brother, Roy E. Brown (Betty), of Townville, SC; two sisters, Eva Nell Fulbright (Henry), of Spartanburg, SC and Faye Dees, of Piedmont; three grandchildren, Evan Tripp, Hayden Tripp and Mary Sullivan Altom.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road with Joey Altom officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM Tuesday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of Charley and Joey Altom, 109 Gray Log Turn, Piedmont, SC.
