Charles Erby Burrell, Sr., 79,husband of Shirley Allen Burrell passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018.
Born in Oconee County, a son of the late Phidel and Alice Jenkins Burrell, Mr. Burrell retired from Easley Mechanical and was a member of New Life Baptist Church. He was a US Army Veteran having served in the Korean War.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of fifty-five years, are a daughter, Diane Browning of Liberty; four sons, Robert Burrell (Paula) of Anderson, Rusty Burrell (Melissa) of Pickens, Dean Burrell (Kimberly Martin) of Easley and Andrew Griffin of Travelers Rest; five grandchildren, Angela Hayes, Brittany Hannah, Stephanie Slade and Brooklynn and Braden Lynch; six great- grandchildren; three sisters, Louise Bates and Nina Alexander both of Pickens and Lois Reid of Easley; and three brothers, James Burrell of Six Mile and Wayne Burrell and Toliver Burrell both of Pickens.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Burrell was predeceased by a son, Charles Erby Burrell, Jr.; and three brothers, Jerry, Allison and Claude Burrell.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Gilead Baptist Church, Pickens. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens with military honors.
The family will receive friends from noon until 1:45 PM Saturday at the church, prior to the service.
The family is at the home of his granddaughter, Angela Hayes.
