Charles “Chase” Thomas Tripp II, 31 years old, passed away on March 2, 2023, in Salisbury, NC, surrounded by his family and friends. Chase, a precious gift from God, was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on April 7, 1991. He was the sweetest, most caring, fun-loving, delightful person throughout his entire life. He enjoyed his time with family and friends.

His family moved to Pennsylvania when he was nine months old. He loved sports at an early age and enjoyed playing baseball, football, basketball, and golf, as well as swimming and playing in the snow. His family moved to Newnan, Georgia, when he was nine years old and he continued his love for baseball, basketball, football, and golf. He graduated from East Coweta High School in 2009, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management and a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling College Student Affairs at the University of West Georgia. While at the university, he served as President of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Chase was employed as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of West Georgia until July 2020, when he accepted the position as Director of Sports Performance at Catawba College. During his career, Chase felt honored to have the opportunity to help guide and prepare young athletes to be successful in sports, academics, and life. He enjoyed working with the coaches and Athletic Department staff.

He was predeceased by his grandmother Aletha Skelley; grandfather James Tripp; stepbrother Michael Dickerson; Uncle Mike Tripp; step grandparents Lee and Carol Coleman and Joe and Carol Dickerson.

He is survived by his parents, Mary (mother) and Keith Dickerson and Chuck (father) and Kelly Tripp; his sister Tara Tripp; stepbrother Paul Dickerson (Ashley and three step-nephews); stepsister Ashley Gillespie (Jonathan and two step-nephews); grandparents, Oma Betty Tripp; Grandpa George Skelley; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved dog, Lilo. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11 at 11:00 AM at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home (108 Cross Creek Rd, Central, SC).  The service will begin at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel.  Immediately following the service, burial will be at Memory Gardens in Clemson.

Additionally, a celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, March 14, at 11:00 AM, at Omwake-Dearborn Chapel (230 Faculty-Staff Circle, Salisbury, NC).

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Chase Tripp Endowment Scholarship Fund at Catawba College (Catawba College - Alumni and Advancement - Give to Catawba College – Gift Information (imodules.com) or JDRF Your Way | Memorial fundraiser for Type 1 Diabetes.
