Charles “Chuck” Houston Emery, Jr., 59, of Piedmont, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025.

Born on May 29, 1965 in Chula Vista, California, he was the son of the late Charles Houston Emery and Brenda Elaine Kelley. Chuck was a beacon of kindness and warmth in the lives he touched, known for his humble spirit and an unwavering willingness to help others, often saying he would give you the shirt off his back.

Chuck dedicated over 30 years of his life to American Fire Protection, where he earned a deep respect from his colleagues. It is a true testament to his unwavering work ethic. A proud graduate of Clinton High School, Chuck was not just defined by his career; he embodied a rich tapestry of life experiences that reflected his passions and priorities. After proudly serving in the US Army for over six years, his love for his country and tight structure permeated all aspects of his life. Family meant everything to Chuck. He cherished each moment spent with them, especially his grandchildren, for whom he was not just a grandfather but a mentor, instilling in them a love for the great outdoors. Whether he was teaching them the intricacies of hunting and fishing, his laughter echoed through the trees, forever embedding memories in their hearts. Chuck was a man of many interests. His love for technology and gadgets was immense. One of his favorite passions was flying his drones. He found comfort in the world of history, often felt intrigued in the tales spun by the History Channel, while his enthusiasm for sports led him to cheer fervently for the South Carolina Gamecocks and NASCAR. A self-proclaimed “Mr. Fix It,” Chuck had a knack for repairing almost anything, a skill that brought comfort to friends and family alike. Those who knew him will fondly remember the heart of Chuck Emery.

He is survived by five children, Andrew Emery (Carie), Thomas Jones, Danielle Jones, Mark Emery, and Lisa Link (Patrick); a sister, Missy Emery; six grandchildren, Bryson Emery, Jayden Emery, J’sean Clement, Daimon Jones, Aria Williams, and Rhea Emery; two nieces, Shae Davis (Cassy Cuevas), and Savanna Moates; and his beloved fur babies Candy Cane, Sugar and Buttercup.
