Charles F. Coggins

July 3, 1941 — November 5, 2016

Charles F. Coggins, 75, of Easley, was the husband of Brenda Smith Coggins, passed peacefully Saturday, November 5, 2016 in his home surrounded by his family.


Born in Greenville County to the late Fred O. Coggins and Evelene Moon Coggins.


Charles was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church in Easley for 36 years where he served his church as a Deacon.   He served proudly in the U.S. Army before being Honorably Discharged.   He loved gardening, was an active member of the Upstate Day Lily Society, and he was extremely proud to share with his wife the "Best Landscape Garden" from AHS Region #15 in 2015.   He retired from General Heating and Air.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Tallant.


He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Brenda Smith Coggins; sons, Charles E. Coggins (Renee) and Ross M. Coggins (Leslie) both of Anderson; brothers, Clayton W. Coggins (Wanda) of Easley and Freddie R. Coggins of Anderson; grandchildren, Cade Coggins, Conner Coggins, Mitchell Coggins, Chaz Coggins, and Lauren Coggins.


Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 8th at 11:00 AM in Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 210 Mt Airy Church Rd, Easley with Rev. Dr. Keith Shorter officiating.   Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens in Easley.


Family will receive friends Monday, November 7th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.


In lieu of flowers, donations are requested directly to Mt. Airy Baptist Church, Building Fund, in memory of Charles.
