Charles Douglas Edwards, Sr., 82, of 221 Pickens Drive, died Thursday, February 12, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Hendersonville, NC, Mr. Edwards was a son of the late George Albert and Sarah Alice Souther Edwards. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. He was a member of Crosswell First Baptist Church for 34 years and a former Sunday School teacher. He was the owner/operator of Edwards Metal Fabricators and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Pat Clark Edwards of the home; a son, Doug Edwards, Jr. and his wife Benita of Easley, a daughter, Tammie C. Harrison and husband Keith of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Alex and Daniel Harrison of Greenwood and Melonie Edwards of Easley.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Walter Earl Edwards.
Graveside funeral services will 2:00 p.m. Sunday in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home- Powdersville Road, Easley, SC from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00p.m Sunday, prior to the service.
The family is at the home of the son at 305 Hall Road, Easley, SC.
Memorials may be made to the Medium # 2 Sunday School Class c/o Crosswell Baptist Church, 219 S. Fish Trap Road, Greenville, SC 29611
