Charles Edwin Ellenburg , 90, formerly of Ellenburg Drive, Easley, died Saturday, December 05, 2009 at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC.

Mr. Ellenburg was born in Pickens County, a son of the late Ernest M. and Lillie Stewart Ellenburg. He was the former Mayor of Easley and was in public service for 48 years. He was the retired business owner of Ellenburg Furniture. Mr. Ellenburg was a member of Glenwood Wesleyan Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.

Mr. Ellenburg is survived by six daughters, Ann E. French and husband, Bob, of Hobe Sound, Florida, Gail E. Smith of Easley, Sherri E. Jones and husband, Bill, of Saluda, North Carolina, Lynette E. Sefick and husband, Steve, of Clemson, Jan E. Houston of Greenwood and Kim E. Williams and husband, Randy, of Easley; one son, Charles E. Ellenburg, Jr. and wife Vickie of Simpsonville; one brother, Ralph M. Ellenburg of Easley; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ellenburg is predeceased by his wife, Janice Harris Ellenburg.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown, with entombment to follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens Bell Tower Mausoleum, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family is at their respective homes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky Bottom Camp for the Blind, 123 Hancock Road, Sunset, SC 29685
