Charles William Fagan, 88, husband for 60 years of Susan Ann Gilbert Fagan passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at his home.
Born in Martin, Georgia, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Beulah Patterson Fagan. He attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural School and University of Georgia and graduated from Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia. He worked for 32 years at the Pendleton Finishing Plant of Milliken Company in Pendleton and retired as the Personnel Manager. He was a former member of the Clemson Lions Club and Fellowship Club of Clemson, and served on the Board of Directors for Table Rock Resort. He was a former member of First Baptist Church of Clemson where he was a former deacon and Sunday School teacher. He then joined the Clemson United Methodist Church and was very active in the church life. Charles was an Air Force veteran and was stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming during the Korean War. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, woodworking and spending time with his family and especially his loving wife.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Melanie F. Guill (Rusty) of Seneca and Debra F. Martin (Wayne) of Easley; grandchildren, Brandon Martin (Alex), Kayln Guill Wood (Rich), Carson Brooks Guill and Ashleigh Ann Martin.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Floreine Henderson and Ben Evelyn Holland.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Friday at Clemson United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Thursday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central, SC.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Collins Children's Home, Clemson United Methodist Church or Clemson Meals on Wheels.
