Charles W. Finley

Charles Wilton Finley, 70, of 200 Crestview Road, went to his eternal home Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.
Born in Pickens County, a son of Furman Finley of Easley, and the late Mae Findley Finley, Mr. Finley was employed for many years with Dan River Corporation and retired from Mayfair Mills. He was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church where he was a former Board Member, Sunday school teacher and belonged to the Lucille Searcy Sunday School Class. He had attended St. Andrew for fifty years and eleven months without missing Sunday services and had helped in many ways to assist others.
Mr. Finley was a member of Bates Masonic Lodge, Gideons International, Woodmen of the World and was a former member of Hejaz Shrine Temple.
Surviving, in addition to his father, are his wife, Pat Hairston Finley of the home; a son, Rev. Gregg Finley and his wife, Wendy; a daughter, Deedi Barnette and her husband, David; grandsons, Bill Finley and his wife, Tami; Cameron, Keegan and Caden Barnette; granddaughters, Alston, BreAnna and Kasey Finley; great grandchildren, Eliza and Weston Finley: a brother, Haskell Finley and his wife, Ann, a sister, Hazel Miller and her husband, Bill, all of Easley; two sisters-in-law, Carol Knight and her husband, Dan, of Fernandina Beach, FL, and Mary Agee and her husband, John of Walterboro; and his mother-in-law, Sue Hairston of Easley. In addition to his mother, Mr. Finley was predeceased by his father-in-law, Juber Hairston.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew United Methodist Church with Rev. David Bauknight officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Members of the Lucille Searcy Sunday School Class will servce as Honorary Escort.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown where the family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

The family is very grateful for the excellent care given at St. Francis Hospital, Cancer Centers of the Carolinas, the doctors and nurses at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley, and for the prayers of our church family and friends.
