Charles Joseph Gilreath, 80, of Sylvia Road, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, July 28, 2018.
Born in Anderson County he was a son of the late Ernest and Nellie Hicks Gilreath.
Mr. Gilreath was retired from the textile industry after several years of dedicated service and was a faithful member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and the Tom Sheriff Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Bates Masonic Lodge #189 A.F.M. and proudly served his country in the US Navy. He loved his family, his church family and enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Betty McCall Gilreath of the home; children, Darla G. Ridley (Ronnie), Dewayne Gilreath (Tammy) and Deanne G. Barnes (Michael) all of Easley; grandchildren, Travis Ridley (Rachel), Bridget Gillespie (Greg), Kristen Dickard (Brent), Japheth Gilreath (Brittany), Nathan Gilreath (Kaitlyn), Samuel Gilreath, Tucker Barnes, Griffin Barnes and Riley Barnes; great grandchildren; Reagan, Meredith and Taylor Gillespie, Skylar, Austin, Jade and Hunter Ridley and Skylyn and Eve Gilreath; sisters, Kathryn Jones and Jean Chapman both of Belton, and Betty Shellenbarger of Piedmont; and brothers, Ralph Gilreath of Travelers Rest and Clinton Gilreath of Dacusville.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, J.C., Tommy, Delford and Theo Gilreath.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road with burial to follow in Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM at the funeral home.
