Charles Joseph Gonzalez, 87, of Easley, husband of Mary Squicciarini Gonzalez, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.
Born April 12, 1923 in Bayonne, NJ., he was a son of the late Santiago Gonzalez and Carmen Fernandez Gonzalez. He was a WWII veteran serving in the US Navy SeaBees, and was a retired Engineer Technician from the US Military Academy (West Point) with 37 years of federal service. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pickens.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Camille Martino and husband, Charles of Seneca, and Linda Passmore and husband, Mark of Taylors; grandchildren, Christin Mastrodominico, Charles Martino, and Zachary Passmore; step-grandchildren, Haley Passmore, Taylor Yant, Kinsley Yant, and Katelynn Shipe.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 31, 2010 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pickens. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Cottingham Hospice House 390 Keowee School Rd. Seneca, SC 29672.
