Charles Earl Heyward

July 10, 1933 — February 8, 2016

            Charles Earl Heyward, 82, of Piedmont, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 8, 2016. 


            He served as a drill instructor in the United States Air Force. A graduate of North Greenville and Furman Universities, he was a teacher and principal with the Greenville County School District. Charles was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and the Prayer Warriors class, having served as a faithful teacher for many years.



            He is survived by his wife, Carol Heyward; daughter, Pam Parker; son, Greg (Beth) Heyward; grandchildren, Ellen and Andrew Heyward; brother, Owen (Betty) Heyward; sister-in-law, Diane Heyward; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Sue Couch.



            He is preceded in death by his parents Nolton and Earline Heyward and a brother, V.T. Heyward.



            Funeral services will be held Friday, February 12, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Rock Springs Baptist Church. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:30 pm at the church.



            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock Springs Baptist Church.
