Charles Roy Holmes, 79, of 31 Circle Street, died Friday, December 19, 2008 at AnMed Health Medical Center.
A native of LaFrance, he was a son of the late R.B. and Annie Mae Thomas Holmes. He was a veteran of the US Army and was retired from LaFrance Mills. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in LaFrance.
Survivng are a brother, James Lewis Holmes of Pendleton; a sister, Hazel Peek of Central; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, R.B. Holmes, Jr., and two sisters, Ruth Gilreath and Gladys Whitman.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Sunday night from 6 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charles Holmes Memorial Fund; c/o Duckett-Robinson; 108 Cross Creek Road; Central, SC 29630.
The family is at the home of his niece, Lisa Olson, 3302 Refuge Road; Central, SC 29630.
