Charles Edward "Torchy" James, 90, husband of the late Sybil Annette Jewell James, of Easley, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2026.
Born in Central, SC, he was a son of the late Joseph Walter and Rosa Manley James.
Mr. James was an avid hunter and fisherman who deeply valued time spent playing with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his children, Charles "Chuck" Edward James, Jr. and Shari Ann James Stowers (Scott); grandchildren, Steve Riley Fisher (Holly), Lauren Annette Stowers, Ryan Scott Stowers (Jamie), Seth Inabinet Stowers (Talisa), and Aubrey Lee Stowers Poteat (Grant); great-grandchildren, Alexis Hickey, Madison Hickey, Peyton Hickey, Ophelia Fisher, Owen Stowers, Sawyer Stowers, Adalee Poteat, Bastian Stowers, and Leilani Stowers; and a sister, Irene McCauley.
In addition to his loving wife of 66 years, he was predeceased by his brothers, Gene James, Tommy James, Walter James, and Joe James, Jr.; and sisters, Inez Cothran and Mildred Ellenburg.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 2:00 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Flowers will be accepted.
