He grew up in Philadelphia, PA and graduated from George Washington High School in 1965. He entered the U. S. Army in 1967 when he went to flight school to become a helicopter pilot. After graduation he was sent to Vietnam in 1968. While there, he was shot down and spent two months in a hospital in Japan and then was sent back to the states to recover from his injuries. Brock loved to fly. If he wasn’t flying you could find him on his boat cruising down waterways all over the USA.

He retired from active duty in 1974 and returned to Philadelphia to be near family. Being a married man with a wife and small son he started his business career with Nicholson File, a division of Cooper Industries, as a human resource generalist for 29 years. He worked all over the Eastern United States and traveled the world for business and pleasure. In 2003 he was offered a job at Murphy Brown Family Farms in Warsaw, NC as VP of Human Resources.

Brock retired in 2013 to Ocean Isle Beach, NC. He had retired from the U. S. Army Reserves in 1992 as a LT Colonel.
