Charles Manley McCuen of 132 S. Mechanic Street, passed away on October 10, 2009 of a prolonged illness at the age of 80.

Born on November 18, 1928, the son of the late Wyatt Milton and Lula Willingham McCuen of Belton, he was a graduate of Greenville High School, served in the US Coast Guard, and later graduated from University of South Carolina. During his working career, he resided in Tampa, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia. After retirement, he spent much of his time being an active member of New Spring Church, playing golf, and watching tennis.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce McHugh McCuen; one sister, June Moseley and husband, Jerry of Seneca; one brother, Ted McCuen of Greenville; three loving children, Christie McCuen Krueger and husband, Richard, Jr. of Gainesville, Georgia, Chuck McCuen and wife, Linda of Pendleton, and Michael McCuen and wife, Monica of Greenville; eight grandchildren, Brian Krueger of Atlanta, Kalli Sandifer and husband, Russ of Greenville, Mallorie Krueger of Gainesville and fiance, Ryan Jones, Lauren McClellan and husband, Matt of Charleston, Matthew and Michael McCuen, Jr and Jake and Robert Rudd all of Greenville.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sons James and Beaty McCuen.

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Monday at First Baptist Church, Pendleton with burial to follow in the Pendleton Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM, Sunday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central-Clemson Commons, Central, SC.
