Charles Evans McDaniel, 89, of Wild Wing Way, husband of Frances McNeely McDaniel, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 at his home.
Born February 2, 1924 in Laurens, County, he was the son of the late Matthew and Myrtle Dunwoody McDaniel. Mr. McDaniel was a US Army veteran serving in WWII. He proudly fought under the leadership of General George Patton in the Battle of the Bulge, the Rhineland Invasion and in the Central Europe Campaign. Mr. McDaniel was a photo engraver for the Greenville News for forty six years and attended Calvary Assembly of God.
In addition to his wife of sixty two years, he is survived by his daughters, Pat Stone (Gary), Terri McDaniel and Dana McCall; sister, Mary Downie Camak; grandchildren, Kelly Stone, Kevin Stone, Hannah McCall and Evan McCall; one great-grandchild, Callie Phillips.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Erin Stone.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial will follow at 3:00 PM in MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 11:45 AM Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
