Charles Edward Myers, 91, of Pendleton, husband to the late Martha Elizabeth Evatt Myers, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on September 18, 2025 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s and Esophageal cancer.
Born in Statesville, NC, he was the son of the late Adolphus Preston “Dob” Myers and Lou Zella Smith Myers. Mr. Myers served his country proudly in the United States Army, being stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. Following his service in the military, he moved back home to begin a long and successful career with Myers Constructions Co., Inc. and Church Street Apartments. Charles loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was an avid traveler and member of the Electric City Shag Club. Charles was a devout member at First Baptist Church of Pendleton.
He is survived by his children, Lisa Myers Caveny of Pendleton and Mark Edward Myers of Pendleton; sisters, Katherine Myers Nivens (Don) of Moore, SC and Martha Myers Brewer (Ansel) of Greenwood, SC.
Mr. Myers was preceded in death his wife, parents, and brothers, James Myers, Preston Myers, Jesse Myers, and Baby Henry Myers.
The family will receive friends on Friday, September 26, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Pendleton.
Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary.
Burial will be in First Baptist Church of Pendleton Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Foothills.
