Charles W. Payne

Charles William �??Buddy�?? Payne, 77, husband of Barbara Tutton Payne, died at his residence Friday, September 16, 2011. A native of Pittsburg, Texas, he was the son of the late Charlie N. and Ruby Helms Payne. He retired from �??Ole Norms�?? as a salesman, was a member of the Masons and loved to hunt and fish.

In addition to his wife he is survived by son, Charlie Wayne Payne (Charlene) of Asheville, N.C.; daughters, Carla Payne Pettis (Anthony) of Lincoln, AL, Patricia Payne Strickland (Melvin) of Atlanta, GA, step-daughter, Sherry Ann Bayne (Melvin) of Greenwood, S.C.; eight grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers, Allen Adams and Louie Adams, sister Joyce Niell and grandchild, Chase Payne.

Funeral services will be 2pm Sunday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 12:30pm-2pm prior to the service.
