Charles O. Pepper, 79, of the 3 & 20 community, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2007, at his home in Anderson County.

Born March 2, 1927, a son of the late Dr. James Carl Pepper and Mary Haas Pepper, Mr. Pepper lived his entire life in this community; was a member and former deacon of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church; currently attending Pendleton Street Baptist Church; member of the Woodmen of the World; a board member of the 3 & 20 Fire Department; and a retired general contractor.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Iris M. King Pepper of the home; his son, William E. Pepper, Sr, and his wife, Sandra, of Leavenworth, Kansas; one daughter, Janice E. O'Bryant and her husband, Paul, of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Ella Garrison and husband, David, Faye Nasworthy and husband, Glenn.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Carl, Jr. and sister, Mae.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 1, from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

Funeral services will be held immediately following the reception of friends at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Luke King, Rev. Scott Willis, and Rev. Keith Davis. Burial will follow in Mount Pisgah Baptist Church cemetery.

Honorary escorts will be members of the 3&20 Fire Department and Woodmen of the World Lodge 379.

The family is at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pendleton Street Baptist Church Building Fund, 601 South Pendleton Street, Easley, SC 29640 or the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 101 Pisgah Drive, Easley, SC 29642.
