Charles Edward Powell, 79, of Easley, husband of Jane Minton Powell, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at his home.

Born in Clayton, Alabama, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Katie Mae Kirk Powell. He proudly served our country in the US Navy aboard the USS Yorktown.

Chuck retired from Winn Dixie and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a sports fanatic and especially enjoyed college football. He was proud of his Clemson Tigers and found pleasure in reading, watching western TV shows, and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 57 years, are two daughters, Suzanne Gardner (Jon) of York, SC, and Elizabeth D. Powell of Hickory, NC; two sons, Brad Powell (Amanda) of Lewisville, NC, and Richard L. Powell (Jill) of Greenville; a sister, Mary Spires of Charlotte, NC; and grandchildren, Brandon Gardner, Taylor Powell, Hannah Powell, Cameron Gardner, Jordan Powell, and Avery Powell; and his fur baby Sir Jax.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
