Mr. Charles Wesley Simmons, 85, husband of the late Helen Virginia Hunter Simmons, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late John McDaniel and Clovie Jane Lesley Simmons, Mr. Simmons was the retired owner and operator of Simmon's Tile and Carpet and of the Baptist faith. He was a US Army Veteran having served during the Korean War.

Surviving are a son, Tony Simmons (Cindy) of Easley; a daughter, Tracy Klippert of Easley; a brother, Fulton Simmons of Easley; four grandchildren, Jeremy Klippert (Megan), Candy Garrett (Andy), Chevy Harrelson (Chad) and Jonathan Simmons; and four great-grandchildren, Amber, Jocelyn, Cheyenne and Colton. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Simmons was predeceased by four brothers, Elzie, Ilar, Hansel and Robert Simmons.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Gary Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park with military honors.

The family will receive friends from noon until 1:45 PM Tuesday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
