Charles “Thane” Joyce, 64, of Greenville, South Carolina, loving husband of Wenona Robinson Joyce, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
Born on April 18, 1961, in Charleston, South Carolina, he was a son of Charles “Donnye” Joyce and the late Rowena Dryman Joyce. A talented mechanical engineer, Thane devoted many years of professional life to Engineering, where his spirit and expertise made a lasting impact. His educational journey led him to earn a master’s degree from the prestigious Georgia Tech, a milestone that fueled his zest for learning and growth. Beyond his professional achievements, Thane proudly served our country as a Civil Engineer in the Air Force, a chapter of his life that reflected his commitment to service and duty. Thane was more than just his accomplishments; he was a loving husband and father whose devotion to his family was unparalleled. His deep Christian faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him through challenges and shaping his interactions with others. Thane’s kindness and support fostered an atmosphere of warmth and love wherever he went, making those fortunate enough to know him feel cherished. An avid sports enthusiast, Thane found joy in cheering for the Clemson Tigers and the Atlanta Braves. Whether watching a game or discussing strategies over a golf course, his passion for sports brought friends and family together, creating countless cherished memories. Thane's commitment to his beliefs was evident not only in his personal life but also in his involvement at Bethel Bible Missionary Church. He was an active participant, contributing his time and heart to the Lord, exemplifying the spirit of service and faith he held dear.
In addition to his loving wife of 15 years, he is survived by three sons, Justin Robinson, Donnye Joyce (Ashley), and Nigel Joyce; two sisters, Donna Guthrie Joyce (Debra), and Cheryl Boucher (Bob); and three grandchildren, Jaysel, Hazel, and Rosie.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road.
