Lt Col Charles F. Tisdale, 88, of 220 Mountain View Lane died Monday, June 11, 2007.
Born in Bryson City, NC, a son of the late Melvin A. and Dora Meadows Tisdale, he was a retired US Army officer and a former Oconee County Director of Charity Medical Services. He was a 1941 graduate of Clemson College and a member of the 1940 Cotton Bowl Football Team.
Surviving are; a son, Eric Lee Tisdale of Clemson; a daughter-in-law, Charlee of Seneca; and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Dugan of Bryson City, NC and Thea Travys Myers of Kinston, NC.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie Lister Tisdale.
Funeral services will be 4 PM, Friday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central-Clemson Commons with burial including full military honors at Old Stone Church to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Open Door Baptist Church, 3673 Blue Ridge Blvd, Walhalla, SC 29691 or to IPTAY Scholarship Fund in honor of the 1940 Cotton Bowl Football Team, P.O. Box 1529, Clemson, SC 29633.
