Charlie McGuinn Holcombe, 90, husband of the late Marie Black Holcombe, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at his home.

Born in Pickens County, a son of the late Joseph Richard and Olga Ada Sanders Holcombe, Mr. Holcombe retired as owner of Holcombe's Meat and Grocery and was a member of Carolina Community Church. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the US Army.

Surviving are two sons, Joe Holcombe (Janice), and Sam Holcombe, all of Liberty; two daughters, Joyce H. Stokes of Easley, and Ann Griffin (Gerald) of Liberty; two brothers, Bill Holcombe and Ralph Holcombe, both of Easley; two sisters, Mildred Gantt of Liberty and Peggy Holcombe of Easley; seven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Holcombe was predeceased by three brothers, Hayward Holcombe, Edward "Bud" Holcombe and John Holcombe and by two sisters, Etheleen Gantt and Geraldine Wyatt.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Golden Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

The family is at the residence, 8356 Moorefield Memorial Highway, Liberty, SC 29657.
