Charlie Bart Taylor, 80, husband of the late Nancy Jo Ackerman Taylor, died Saturday, April 10,2010, at McCall Hopsice House, Simpsonville.
Born in Lancaster, son of the late Harvey H. and Rosia Walden Taylor, Mr. Taylor was retired from J.P. Stevens Co. and Organic Dyestuff Corporation. He was a member of Easley First Baptist Church.
Mr. Taylor attended Mars Hill College and is a Graduate of Clemson Agricultural College in 1953.
He also served in the Church as a teacher of the Adult Sunday School Class, Deacon Emiritus and Adult Sunday School Director.
He was also active in the Easley Lions Club, served as President, Past District Gov- District 32-A; Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow; and inducted into the SC Lions Club Hall of Fame.
He was also an avid photographer and traveler.
Mr. Taylor served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the U.S. Army; as well as the Reserves.
Surviving are two sons, David Wayne Taylor of Washington, D.C., and James Bart Taylor(Janice) of Tucker, G.A.; three daughters, Donna Corn(Larry) of Simpsonville; JoLyn Mauldin(Bobby) of Easley, and Stephanie Craine(Larry) of Greer; one sister, Louise Taylor Proctor of Chattanooga, T.N., and eight grandchildren; Chad Mauldin (Brandy) of Easley, Taylor, Daniel and Allyson Corn of Simpsonville, Austin and Lauren Craine of Greer, and Kristin Kilgore of Columbus,Ga, and special friend, Emily Watson.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Taylor was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Frances Taylor, and a grandson, Bryan Kilgore of Columbus, Ga.
Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday April 13,2010, at Easley First Baptist Church Chapel with the Dr. John Adams, Rev. Stephen D. Ackerman, and Rev. Doyle Kay officiating.
Visitation will be at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Rd. from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Monday April 12, 2010
