Charlotte Elaine Chappell

Charlotte Elaine Chappell, 77, of Central, SC, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 15th, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.

Elaine was born on January 2nd, 1947, in Seneca, South Carolina to the late Grady and Lola Mae Donald. She lived a life in service to others. Elaine was a cherished member of Keowee Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, bowling and gardening with her husband and family. Above all, her life was defined by the love she had for her family. 

Elaine married Harry “Butch” Chappell on December 23, 1967, and they shared 57 wonderful years together. In addition to her husband, Butch, Elaine is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Addis (Keith), Karen Gilliam (Keith), and Tracy Durham (Steve); grandchildren, Kellie Breisch (John), Kaitlynn Goolsby (Cameron), Hoke Durham (Audrey), Garrett Addis (Anna), Dawson Durham, Ben Gilliam, and Carter Durham; great-grandchildren, Addi, Emmy, Rae, Clara, Jasper, and Colson.

In addition to her immediate family, Elaine leaves behind her siblings, Lonnie Donald, Etrulia “Trudy” Kelley, and William “Major” Donald and several nieces and nephews.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Calvin Donald.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Keowee Baptist Church, 544 Keowee Baptist Church Road, Six Mile, SC 29682.

Funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 2:00 p.m. with burial to be held in Dodd Cemetery.
