Cherry Ann Hix Whitt, 88, of Kennedy Street, wife of the late Morris Sperling Whitt, died Monday, May 22, 2017.
Born in Seneca, she was a daughter of the late Young Livingston Hix and Kate Marett Hix.
After high school, Mrs. Whitt worked as a telephone operator in Seneca and was later employed with J.P Stevens. From the early 70's until retirement, she worked with her husband at Whitt Mobile Homes in Seneca and then in Easley. She was also a member of Easley First Baptist Church.
She was an avid reader with the heart of a rebel, and enjoyed socializing with her many friends. Cherry and Morris traveled in the US and internationally as often as possible.
Surviving are her children, Dale Whitt of Easley and Anne Whitt Smith (Jim) of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Andrea Bolling (Chris) and Kayla Powell; and great grandchildren, Taylor Whitt Bolling and Kyle Logan Fennell.
Mrs. Whitt was the youngest and last surviving of the eight children of Young Livingston and Kate Marett Hix.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road, with burial to follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church, 300 E. 1st Avenue, Easley, SC 29640.
The family will be at their respective homes.
