Chris Davenport, 82, of South Academy St., husband of the late Betty Copeland Davenport, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at Hosanna Health and Rehab.
Born June 7, 1932 in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Raymond and Bessie Coker Davenport. Mr. Davenport was a US Army veteran and retired from Milliken Cushman Plant with forty five years of service. He was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class.
Mr. Davenport is survived by his daughter, Donna Cox (Guerry) of Williamston; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by five brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Big Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM Wednesday prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 820 South Hamilton St, Williamston, SC 29697.
