Rev. C.L. Smith, 75, of 302 Stonehaven Lane, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.

Born in Brookhaven, MS, a son of the late Cullen L. Smith Sr. and the late Laura Nell Wilson Smith, Rev. Smith retired as a United Methodist minister, having served churches in Mississippi, Easley and Slater. He also retired from Belk's in Easley after twenty-three years of service.

Rev. Smith is survived by his wife, Carolyn Autry Smith of the home; two sons, David Smith, and wife, Lisa, of Anderson and Michael Smith and wife, Julie, of Easley; two daughters, Karen Goodwin of Spartanburg, and Brenda Youngblood and husband, Ted, of Easley; a brother, Larry Smith and wife, Mary Nell, of Maryville, TN; two sisters, Cheryl Cranford and husband, Lamar, of Hattiesburg, MS, and Patricia Echols and husband, Walt, of Charlotte, NC; fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents. Rev. Smith was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa Smith Fraley.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road with Rev. Mike Cox and Rev. Jim Correll officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.

Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist, P.O. Box 582, Easley, SC 29641 or to the American Diabetes Association, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Columbia, SC 29204.
