Clairissa "Splent" Bishop Nalley, 93, of Pelzer Highway, wife of the late Samuel E. Nalley, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born February 22, 1921 in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Dock and Emma Brown Bishop. Mrs. Nalley was a homemaker and a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. Being an excellent seamstress, she did custom window treatments for many years and made most all of her clothing. She was also known for her love of cooking for her family.
Surviving are a son, Samuel G. "Sammy" Nalley and wife, Sarah Elaine, of Easley; a daughter, Joyce N. Sudduth and husband, Troy, of Easley; four grandchildren; Bentley Sudduth (Dawn) of Pickens, Penny Chambers (Johnny) of Greenbrier, AR, Todd Sudduth (Katherine) of Pickens and Chris Nelson (Charlene) of Travelers Rest; and thirteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Nalley was predeceased by two brothers, William A. "Bill" Bishop and T.C. Bishop, and by two sisters, Ruby Albertson and Ora Holliday. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 PM Thursday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:15 PM Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
