Clara Lois McGuire Day Turner, 81, wife of Bobby J. Turner, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 23, 2019.
Born in Walhalla, a daughter of the late Lafette Brown and the late Mellie Brewer McGuire, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, reading, fishing, and had a tremendous love for cats. She was a cloth inspector for Alice Manufacturing for twenty-five years and the former owner and operator of Wedding Boutique in Powdersville. She was a member of Tremont Church of God in Greenville.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Michael Ben Day of Easley; a stepson, Larry Gene Turner of Piedmont; daughters, Susan Day Cuddy (Ricky) of Easley, Chris Day Porter (Gary) of Liberty, and Sherri Day Curtis (Gene) of Liberty; stepdaughters, Sherry Hicks (Tommy) of Simpsonville and Lisa Spratt of Simpsonville; grandchildren, Steven Cuddy, Amanda Gessell, Warren Smith, and Kristen Smith; step-grandchildren, Cory Ashley, Jason Guthrie, Kyle Hilly, Michael Hilly, Ambera Turner, Lacy Turner, and Tyler Martin; and five great-grandchildren.
in addition to her parents, she was predeceaced by a daughter, Kathy Lynn Day; brothers, Jack McGuire, Gerald McGuire, and Nicky McGuire; and sisters, Mildred McClain, Treasure Shoemaker, and Sue Merrit.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Tremont Church of God, 2854 New Easley Highway, Greenville, SC 29611. Burial will follow in Day Family Cemetery in Easley.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the church.
