Powdersville

Clarence Pelham "Pete" Kellett , 84, of 412 Sherman Road, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law after an extended illness.

Born in Fork Shoals, SC on September 05, 1924, to the late Ped and Bertie Nease Kellett. He was the owner/operator of Kellett Pattern Shop for 48 years.

Mr. Kellett was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Marines 2nd. Division in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church, the previous Master of Masonic Lodge # 31, a member of Wren Ruritan, Woodmen of the World, the Shriners Club, a very active member of the Republican Party Committee and an avid golfer.

He is survived by a daughter and son in law Connie Spoon and David of the home; a brother, Bryant Kellett of Simpsonville; four sisters, Anita Webster of Beaufort, SC, Nellie Moon of Greenville, Nannie Kellett of Taylors and Jane Burden of Piedmont; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Kellett was predeceased by his wife, Lela R. Kellett; a son, John W. Kellett, Sr. his step-mother, Annie Mae Kellett and four brothers.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Bethesda United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mike Cox and Rev. Cy Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road and will be placed in the church at 12:30 pm where the family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VistaCare Hospice 15 Brendan Way, Suite 100 Greenville, SC 29615.

The family is at the home.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and staff of VistaCare for their kindness and loving care during Mr. Kellett's illness and especially to his CNA's Roxanne and Akeba, his nurse Melita and his social worker Robin.
