Claude Wesley Newton, 90, of Anderson Place, died Tuesday, August 24, at Anderson Area Medical Center. He was the widower of Ovialene Harrison Newton.
Born September 20.1919 in Pickens County, son of the late John Wesley and Lola Kelly Newton. He was a retired builder and a longtime member of the Wesleyan Church.
Surviving: Son Wilton Newton (Judy) of Pendleton, daughter Claudette Wells (Johnny) of Anderson, and Letha Cothran (Ken) of Central. He is also survived by a brother John H. Newton of Anderson, and sisters Mildred Williamson of Seneca and Sarah James of Mauldin. Grandchildren; Darnell Newton, Daniel Newton, David Woody, Kevin Woody, Jon Woody, Kimberly Sexton, Tim Sexton. Tiffiany Porter, and Candice McMillan. He had 18 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers Morris, Gene, and Raymond Newton and sister Lois White
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, Aug 27 at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home Central, SC. Visitation will be prior to the service on Friday starting at 12:30.
