Mr. Claude J. Welborn, 73, of Easley, SC, husband of Diane Marie Vibbert Welborn, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 at McCall Hospice House.
Born in Alexandria, VA, on June 14, 1943 and was a son of the late Inez Mittie Alexander and Carlos Eugene Welborn.
Claude loved baseball, especially his beloved Atlanta Braves. He spent most of his years as a Master Bricklayer and Stone Mason, he was referred to as a burnt clay artist. He was a fantastic guitar player and singer, and loved working on cars, trucks, and was a genius on small engine repair. Claude was as honest as they come and a very humble soul. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Welborn was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Wade Welborn and his grandson, Ryan Wade Welborn, both of Fredricksburg, VA; two brothers and one sister.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 54 years, of the home, are his son, Luke Welborn of Spotsylvania, VA; two sisters, Eleanor O’Shields of Liberty, SC and Carolyn Sharp of Stafford, VA; four granddaughters.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 15th at 2:00PM in Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens in Easley.
The family will receive friends from 12:30PM to 1:45PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
